The heart behind Grace Point is Joy, whose path into mental health care has been shaped by both professional experience and personal conviction. Joy's career began with humble roots in direct support care, where she worked closely with individuals facing a variety of physical, emotional, and mental health challenges. Through those early experiences, she discovered a deep calling to serve those who often felt unseen, unheard, or misunderstood.
Driven by a desire to expand her ability to help others, Joy advanced her career from Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to Registered Nurse (RN), and ultimately became a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Along the way, she gained extensive experience caring for individuals across diverse settings and stages of life, always carrying with her a commitment to treating the whole person—not just their diagnosis.
Mental health work is personal to Joy. Having witnessed the impact of mental health struggles within her own family, she understands the pain, uncertainty, and resilience that often accompany these experiences. Yet even before her own personal testimonies, she felt an undeniable urge and calling to walk alongside those facing emotional and psychological challenges. That calling continues to guide her practice today.
These experiences have shaped how Joy delivers care—with empathy, dignity, patience, and unwavering hope. She believes that every person deserves to be met with compassion and that recovery is possible when people are given the right support, tools, and encouragement.
